Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Lantern Puppets: Shadow Puzzle (“Lantern Puppets”, the “App”) handles information. The App is published by Mert Korkmaz under the name MertApp (“we”, “us”). It applies to the App on iOS and Android.
In short: Lantern Puppets has no accounts, no sign-up and no in-app purchases. We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos or location. Your progress stays on your device. The App shows ads through Google AdMob, and Google may process device and ad-related data to deliver and measure those ads.
1. Information stored only on your device
The App saves the following locally on your device so the game works:
- game progress (levels completed, your puppet album, coins, hints and other boosters),
- timers that pace the game and its ads, such as when you last claimed the daily gift and how many levels you have played since the last ad,
- settings (sound, music, vibration, reduced motion and language).
This information is never sent to us. We have no servers that receive it. Deleting the App, or using Settings → Reset progress in the App, removes it.
2. Sharing a picture
After a chapter’s shadow show you can tap Share. The App then creates a picture of the show on your device and opens your phone’s own share sheet. The picture is only sent where you choose to send it; it is never sent to us.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Lantern Puppets is free and is supported by ads served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. To show ads, prevent fraud and measure ad performance, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process:
- device identifiers, such as the Android Advertising ID or, only if you allow it, Apple’s Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA),
- IP address (used to estimate an approximate location, such as country),
- device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, language and app version,
- ad interaction data, such as ad views and taps, and diagnostic data such as crashes of the ad SDK.
This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us. We do not receive information that identifies you personally. Google’s use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use data from the App to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
4. Your choices
- Ad personalization (Android): you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your device’s Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
- Ad personalization (iOS): the App does not ask for tracking permission, so the IDFA is not shared. You can also manage this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and in Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
- European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: where the law requires your consent for ads, the App asks for it with a consent message before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time from the App’s settings.
- Uninstalling the App stops all data collection by the App.
5. Legal bases (EEA and UK users)
Local storage of your progress and settings is necessary to provide the game you asked for. Personalized advertising is based on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. Non-personalized advertising, fraud prevention and ad measurement are based on our legitimate interest in keeping the App free.
6. Children
Lantern Puppets is a puzzle game for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us and we will help remove it.
7. Data retention and security
Because we do not run servers for the App, we do not store your data. Data stored on your device stays there until you reset the game or delete the App. Data processed by Google is kept in line with Google’s own retention policies.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, Turkey’s KVKK, or US state laws such as the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to its processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not hold personal data about you, most requests are handled through your device settings or directly with Google. You may still contact us and we will help, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Third-party links
Ads and links in the App may lead to websites or apps we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when the App gains new features. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Significant changes will also be announced in the App’s store listing release notes.
